Participation in the IEA Task 39 on Quiet Wind Turbine Technology

Objective:
The purpose of this project is the participation to the upcoming IEA Wind Research, Development & Demonstration Task on Quiet Wind Turbine Technology. This initiative aims at accelerating the development and deployment of quiet wind turbine technology. It will involve various institutions across Europe and America that are dealing with wind turbine noise issues. The final goal is to provide law-making entities with a series of guidelines in order to facilitate the specification of new wind turbine noise regulations and standards. series of guidelines in order to facilitate the specification of new wind turbine noise regulations and standards.

Expected outcome:
The project will result in a series of guidelines according to the different sub-tasks that will pave the way for future wind turbine noise regulations and certification standards. For example, to date no specific regulation exists fo for the assessment of AM when certifying wind turbines.
