LIGHT-PROTECT: Lightweight Materials for Blast and Fragmentation Protection

Objective:
The purpose of the project is to develop new lightweight composite materials for improved blast and fragmentation protection, based on the scientific knowledge and results from previous projects.

Expected outcome:
By establishing an insight into driving high strain rate material mechanisms as well as development of a new thermo-plastic protective material class, the project will significantly improve personnel safetyr

Safety in Danish armored light military vehicles exposed to blast and fragmentation impact loading.

The project began June 2016 and runs for 3 years
