Organization

Organization:
The project will consist of two phases each of about 3 years. In the first phase the emphasis will be on establishing the facility and validating the measurements. During the second phase, end users will be gradually incorporated and improvements made based on feedback from these research teams. Our aim is that at the end of the 6 year period, the facility is financially self-sustaining.

Home Base:
The mobile WindScanner.dk facility will have its “home base” at Risø DTU’s existing research and test facility: “Test Station for Large Wind Turbines”, located at Høvsøre in Western Jutland, Denmark, which is already the most important wind remote sensing test site in Europe.

Consortium:
WindScanner.dk is operated as a consortium with participation both from the research institutions associated with its construction and research teams within Danish-based wind energy industry (Dong Energy A/S Vestas Wind Systems A/S; Suzlon etc cf Consortium) who will use the facility.

Project leadership: is undertaken by the Wind Energy Department at Risø DTU.
A Board of Directors is appointed to oversee the entire project.
