Research at DTU Wind Energy is typically cross-disciplinary and is organized in strategic research programmes and performed in cooperation with Danish and international universities, research institutes and organizations as well as with the industry and users of the wind energy technology. Our research takes its lead in critical challenges and needs for development and application of the technology, rather than in possible applications of more generic technical-scientific disciplines.

The research is organized in 10 sections and 5 programmes. Special emphasis is placed on obtaining synergy between the research groups and the interaction between materials research and turbine technology and benefiting fully from on-going large infrastructure investments for example Test Centre Østerild.
