DTU Wind Energy is the world’s largest research institution in wind energy, with more than 240 staff members, including 150 academic staff members and approximately 50 PhD students. The Fluid Mechanics Section is one out of the department’s nine research sections and is located at DTU Lyngby Campus.

The research fields are:

  • Small wind turbine system design
  • Building integrated wind turbine system design
  • Axial fan design
Responsibilities and tasks
The position implies research in aerodynamics and aero-elasticity, including some few measurement campaigns. The candidate is expected to use commercial CFD and structural design tools to design a building integrated wind turbine system. The candidate is expected to set-up a measurement campaign and to manage the experimental schedule.

Candidates should have a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

The candidate must demonstrate a profound knowledge in aerodynamics, aeroelasticity, and wind energy. This includes documented research results within the following areas:
  • Development and experience with computing codes for aerodynamic analysis and design of wind turbines and axial fan
  • Axial fan design experiences
  • Duct flow measurement experience
  • General knowledge of wind energy

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
